Applications Open for Piper’s 2021 Apprenticeship Program
Applications are now open for Piper’s 2021 Apprenticeship Program, which will be the third class to begin in Vero Beach, Florida at Piper Aircraft’s world headquarters. The apprenticeship program lasts for two years and includes on-the-job training and classroom instruction leading participants to a Journeyman in Aircraft Assembly qualification. Every apprentice receives a full benefits package and is a paid employee of Piper Aircraft.
The apprenticeship program is accredited and is run in cooperation with Indian River State College. It began in 2019 and was started to fulfill increasing demands for high-quality manufacturing candidates at Piper Aircraft.
The first class of apprentices that started with this program in 2019 will be graduating in 2021. The second is working on their first semester in the program and members are shadowing aircraft assembly workers to learn fabrication and assembly of aircraft.
Piper Aircraft will be presenting information for interested parties at their factory in Vero Beach in the next few months. Prospective apprentices will be able to meet current apprentices, program coordinators, and learn more about the program.
Anyone interested can email [email protected] or visit the Piper website for dates and more information.
